In 7 years building apps for the iPhone & iPad, I've had the opportunity to work on many diverse projects. From medical research apps & streaming radio players, to car insurance & dating apps. I keep up to date with new technologies and have experience with BLE, SiriKit, Actionable Push Notifications, deeplinking, MVVM, Realtime Firebase, SOAP and REST networking.
I've designed, developed & published over 30 of my own apps, which are currently available on the app store. As a senior team member I create processes and procedures to maintain standards.
Through my interest & experience in entrepreneurship I take the time to see the bigger picture and write code to achieve business goals. For example I added an App Store Review integration which sends me weekly review summaries, providing customer insights. This feedback lead to a number of improvements, such as swapping the order of two screens around resulting in a 5% conversion rate increase.
I keep up with the latest best-practices and am always looking for ways to improve my code. I document what I learn in my blog.
I am comfortable with both Objective-C and Swift and regularly maintain codebases that use the two together. I use the MVP & MVVM patterns to shrink the size of my ViewControllers and CocoaPods to manage dependencies. I create protocols alongside types to extend objects as I find them to be more flexible. I Unit Test and employ TDD, when appropriate, to write reusable, reliable, well-structured code.
